It is fair to say that I am not new to this album, a little fun fact about me and this album, “Boss DJ” to my knowledge was the first song I ever learnt the words too. Except mini-Will couldn’t understand certain lyrics, so instead of “ooo-eee girl, ooo-eee girl”, I would shuffle around singing “ooo-wiiiiiiggle, ooo-wiiiiiiggle”. Silly me.
Back to the album though, it’s great, an album that doesn’t have a bad song on it in my opinion and can be listened to practically on repeat. A great variety of maybe faster paced sing along songs, through to slower tempo and more chilled tunes. Personally, “Drunk Again” is one of the coolest tunes they have released, I belt that out in my car on the way to work every time it comes on with no shame whatsoever, much to the confusion of other road users driving past me, I’m sure.
Ska punk in general is just a sick genre, there’s nothing like hearing the combo of instrumentals and vocals on a track like “Good Thing“, it gets me hyped up every time no matter what mood I’m in. At the time of writing this review, Reel Big Fish have been announced to play Slam Dunk Festival 2027 and frankly I don’t think I have purchased a ticket for the festival any faster. If you haven’t already, give this album a listen to ASAP.
